Email Verification during Registration
A Site Manager can choose if new members need to verify their email addresses during the registration process.
Our advice is to let them verify their email address to protect the platform from spam/fake accounts. On the other hand, a lot of communities try to keep the registration process as simple as possible by removing this step. By removing the step, the user gets to choose a password directly during registration.
It could be an option to start with a simple registration process until you detect spam. The setting can be changed at any time: /admin/config/people/accounts
