Organization Manager Role
This chapter explains what the Organization Manager role is and what it can do on an Organization Profile.
Note: The Organization Profiles are not a part of the default Open Social product but can be ordered as an extension module.
Who is an Organization Manager (OM)?
Similar to a Group Manager, an Organization Manager is a member (logged-in user) that has been assigned as a manager of one or more Organization Profiles. Anyone can become an Organization Manager either by being selected by a Site or Content Manager when creating/editing an Organizational Profile, or by submitting a new Organization Profile.
How to assign an organization manager?
- Get the Organization Manager Role: First, a site manager needs to assign you the role of an "Organization Manager."
- Ways to Become an Organization Manager: Once you have the role, you can be assigned to manage an organization in one of the following ways:
- By a Site or Content Manager: A site manager or content manager can designate you as the organization manager when creating the organization's profile.
- By Requesting to Create an Organization Profile: You can submit a request to create a new organization profile, which allows you to automatically become its manager.
- By Another Organization Manager: An existing organization manager can add you as an additional organization manager when they edit their organization’s profile.
