Purpose: Support organizations that have compliance, governance, or regulatory requirements by providing audit-ready activity logs and visibility into platform usage.
This dashboard, together with Community Health dashboard and Group insights dashboard, helps you demonstrate platform usage and answer questions about who did what and when.
Activity logging
Lumina Insights captures and stores activity data from the CMS. For each action we record who performed it, what action was performed, and when it happened.
This makes it possible to distinguish the actor behind an action. For example:
- Account creation: whether a user registered their own account or a site manager created the account on their behalf.
- Group membership: who approved a request for a user to join a group, or who invited a user and who accepted or declined.
- Content and settings: who created, updated, or removed content; who changed a user’s role or permissions.
The Compliance and audit dashboard surfaces this data so you have a transparent, audit-ready record of what happens on the platform and who was responsible for each action.
Transparency and governance
The activity data gives site owners visibility into platform usage patterns and user actions. This supports:
- Audit readiness: activity records can be reviewed to demonstrate platform usage and compliance with organizational policies.
- Transparency: community managers and site owners can see how the platform is being used, supporting governance and oversight.
- Data protection: only activity data necessary for analytics and audit purposes is collected and stored.
What is available today
This dashboard provides insight into platform activity and supports compliance reviews. Additional audit-specific visualizations and reports may be added in the future as the product evolves.
Access control
Access to the Compliance and audit dashboard can be limited to specific accounts upon request. If you need restricted access (for example, only certain individuals), contact the Open Social Support desk to arrange it.
